Hi, my name is Ernie.

As a proud Oregonian, I am honored to be running for Clackamas County Commissioner. As a social worker, I am bound to and stand for the social work Code of Ethics, which means I value service, social justice, dignity & worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, competence, and integrity. I have an ethical responsibility not just to my clients, colleagues, neighbors, and friends— but to myself. I will fight for these values today and always.

My professional background has prepared me to understand the real challenges people in our community face every day. I earned my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Northwest Nazarene University in 2022 and achieved my clinical license in 2025. Through my work in hospitals, substance use treatment programs, and community mental health settings, I have worked directly with individuals and families navigating healthcare systems, housing instability, addiction, and economic hardship. These experiences have given me a front-row seat to the challenges many residents face and the systems meant to support them. As a County Commissioner, I will bring that perspective to policy decisions—focusing on practical solutions that improve access to services, strengthen public health, and support a stronger, healthier community.

When I’m not working or running for office, I am a pet parent to my deaf bullweenie, Lapis Lazuli. I enjoy playing dungeons & dragons, listening to music, and taking trips to the Oregon Coast!
